COLUMBUS, WI (Friday, August 19, 2011) Lincoln Keeser of Johnson Creek laid claim the Dick Moore Memorial Late Model main event on Friday night at Columbus 151 Speedway. Keeser led all 50 laps from the pole as no other driver could find a way to get past the veteran pilot.
Keeser and Kurt Clapper paced the field to green as they battled door to door on the first lap. Keeser led by a small margin at the line to complete lap one as he cleared for sole possession on the second circuit. Jerry Eckhardt followed into second as Clapper slipped back into the pack. Michael Clapper charged to the outside of Eckhardt as he looked to move up. After contact between Eckhardt and Clapper on lap 26, the first caution waved for debris a lap later. Clapper tried to draw even with the leader as racing resumed, but he couldn’t pull off the maneuver as he fell back to third. The leaders raced single file until the second and final caution waved on lap 39. As racing resumed, Ron Bishofberger spilt the field as he charged into third. Bishofberger drove to the outside of Eckhardt to claim second as he slid up alongside Keeser on the point. Bishofberger began losing grip in the outside groove as he fell back alongside Eckhardt. Bishofberger made one last attempt at a winning pass, but Keeser stayed out front to see the checkers first. Bishofberger finished second followed by Eckhardt, Aaron Wilke and Don Gaserude.
