June 6, 2008; Columbus, WI. - Jerry Auby of Sun Prairie lead flag to flag to capture the 35 lap Late Model feature last Friday at Columbus 151 Speedway. Auby took control of the race on the opening lap with fellow front row starter
Scott Patrick falling in line behind him for second. The two drivers lined up and drove out to a hefty lead while the pack bunched up behind Steve Schlosser in third.

Lap after lap went by as Auby and Patrick pulled further away from the pack until the caution flew on lap 26 and erased their advantage. As green flag racing resumed, Auby again moved out away from the field with Patrick in tow. Patrick briefly challenged Auby for the lead, but Auby fought off his advances as he cruised to the stripe for the win followed by Patrick, Schlosser, Al Weishoff and Jerry Eckhart. Eckhart set the pace in qualifying with a time of 13.459 seconds while heat winners included Auby and Don Gaserude.

Current point leader Scott Riedner of Waunakee increased his lead in the standings by laying claim to the 30 lap Sportsman feature event. Riedner began his trek to front from the inside of row five while Mike Winters and Ed Jackson battled for the lead from the front row. Winters finally took control on lap four with Phil Denikas moving into second. On lap nine, Kevin Anderson got inside Denikas to second and began to look for a way around the leader. Riedner had just entered the top five when the only caution of the race flew for a fluid leak on the racing surface.

Riedner used the restart to line up to the outside of Anderson and as the green flew again, Riedner blew by Winters and started to walk away with the lead. Gerry Junget followed Riedner into second, but Riedner was already out of sight on his way to the win. Junget finished second with Anderson, Winters and Jackson rounding out the top five. Riedner also held fast time with a lap of 14.188 while heat winners were Winters and Denikas.

Waterloo's Steve Sauer lead every lap of the 20 lap Hobby Stock feature on his way to victory lane and the win. Sauer took the top spot exiting turn two on the first lap and never looked back. Jason Dunn moved into second behind Sauer, but Kyle Riedner eventually took that position away on lap nine. Sauer had a large advantage erased by a caution with three laps remaining, but managed to maintain his lead through the closing laps and take the win. Rounding out the top five were Riedner, Andy Raley, Jim Tate and Larry Moen. Raley owned quick time with a lap of 15.191 seconds. Sauer and Ben Monday grabbed wins in earlier heat race action.

Doing double duty on the evening, Larry Moen of Madison took top honors by winning the 18 lap Bandit feature event. Brandon Condroski took the early lead from Jess Watters on the first lap as Moen entered the top five to fourth by lap two. Steve Privett began pressuring Condroski for the lead, looking to the outside multiple times. Jimmy Junget used the open door created by Privett to slide into second with Moen right behind for third. The yellow flag made an appearance on
lap seven and Moen used the restart to charge by Junget on the outside and pull even with Condroski. A lap later, Moen gained sole possession of the top spot and immediately started to pull away.

Meanwhile, Kyle Stark was making quick work of the top five, bolting from fifth to second in one lap. But Moen was too far ahead for Stark to run down as the laps ran out and Moen took the win. Stark was second followed by Condroski, Alex Lee and Privett. Stark was fastest in qualifying with a lap of 16.090. Heat winners included Richie Henson, Privett and Brain Werner.

Madison's Andy Ward claimed the win in the wild and crazy 8 lap back up feature race. Ryan Oetzel took the initial lead, but spun on the front stretch on lap two. This handed the top position to Ward to ran away to the checkers with George Wachuta and Jug Her rounding out the top three.
